Claire McCaskill said Trump is taking from the poor to feed Billionaires [WATCH VIDEO]

Donald Trump’s flashy career as a New York real estate developer was often marked by bold claims of success. But his history is dotted with high-profile bankruptcies and failed ventures—a past that has now returned to haunt him.

On Wednesday, former Democratic Senator Claire McCaskill didn’t hold back her frustration during an appearance on MSNBC’s Morning Joe.

McCaskill blasted Trump for abandoning the same rural and working-class Americans who played a important role in returning him to the Oval Office.

“Wall Street didn’t put Donald Trump in office. Billionaires didn’t either. It was poor people and rural America who got him there,” McCaskill bluntly stated.

Her fiery comments came amid outrage over a new budget plan backed by Trump and his close ally, billionaire Elon Musk. The controversial proposal promises massive tax cuts for America’s wealthiest at the expense of the country’s poorest citizens.

Angry Town Halls: A Sign of Growing Frustration

McCaskill warned that Republicans backing the plan should brace themselves for a wave of backlash—especially at town hall meetings. Speaking from personal experience, she explained, “I’ve faced angry crowds before. I always went out to speak even to those who opposed me, so I know anger when I see it.

Republicans haven’t seen anything yet. Soon, they’ll be hiding from their own constituents, just like many did during the Obamacare debates.”

Indeed, some Republicans already face fierce criticism at community meetings across America, where voters express deep fears over Musk-backed cuts that dismantle critical government programs.

Taking from the Poor to Give to the Rich

According to McCaskill, Trump’s new budget is more than just unpopular—it’s a betrayal of those who put their faith in him. “He’s taking money from the poorest families, especially in rural America, and forcing the middle class to pay more for their health insurance,” McCaskill accused. “All this to please the wealthy elite who never respected Trump, even when he was just another real estate developer going bankrupt in New York.”

Her comments tap into growing anger among working-class and rural voters who once believed Trump was their champion. Now, they’re left wondering whether he ever had their interests at heart.
